French-Dutch singer Claire Gascoin, praised for her velvety voice and stage presence, grew up in France and has been passionate about singing and acting since childhood. The mezzo-soprano studied for her bachelor's degree at the Leipzig University of Music with Roland Schubert and Alexander Schmalcz and for her master's degree at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Claudia Visca and Krassimira Stoyanova. She made her operatic debut at the age of 20 as Ottone in L'incoronazione di Poppea under the direction of Stéphane Fuget. While still a student, she portrayed Carmen, Prince Charming, Hansel, and Testo in Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda under the artistic direction of Michael Schade, and made a guest appearance as Cinderella in a children's version of Cenerentola at the Cottbus State Theatre. At the Rossini Festival in Wildbad in 2019, she performed as Roggiero in Tancredi under the direction of Antonino Fogliani (with a guest appearance at the Krakow Opera) and as Annina in Meyerbeer's opera Romilda e Costanza. In the same year, she performed as Mère at the Opéra de Lyon and the Royal Opera House Muscat.
